CONTRACTED DUTY MANAGER Age 18+

Job description:

The Holbrook Club is a well established “not for profit” community leisure provider in Horsham that offers a large variety of sporting, fitness and event facilities. The Club has a strong membership base and ambitious plans over the coming years to develop our facilities further.

We hold a variety of events and functions at The Holbrook Club ranging from Weddings, Christenings, Birthdays, Funerals, Live Bands, daily meetings and corporate events.

We are seeking a motivated and driven individual to join our Operations Team. You will report directly to the General Manager and will be required to assist in managing and directing operations within the club, ensuring all safety and customer standards are met.

The ideal applicant will be responsible for

  • The day-to-day management of the club
  • To work alongside all operational departments to ensure the objectives of the club are met and that the highest standards of customer service are being met
  • To ensure that personal knowledge and understanding of all departments is maintained to facilitate specific support of each department as required whilst on shift.
  • To ensure that the standards of the club are maintained from staff uniform and appearance to general cleanliness.
  • Dealing with member enquiries and queries either face to face, on the phone or via e-mail in a positive and productive way, if applicable then the issue should be passed to the appropriate member of staff, but wherever possible using initiative to ensure a positive outcome.
  • To ensure that club events are delivered as prescribed by the events team from set up to delivery ensuring the customer’s needs and expectations are met or always exceeded.
  • To work alongside the General Manager in pro-actively monitoring all elements of health and safety in and around the club
  • To work with the senior management team in promoting and selling membership to the club
  • To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role – including project work and absence cover
  • Keep social media posts up to date with daily update on the Holbrook Clubs Facebook, and website etc
  • To be a keyholder and responsible for opening and closing of The Holbrook Club while on shift and as a keyholder you will be required to be successful in passing a DBS check
  • Providing support to other areas and team members

The ideal applicant will possess the following experience and attributes:

  • Bar experience
  • Event Management experience
  • Flexibility and ability to work on a rota basis, club opening hours are from 6am – 10pm, to include daytime, weekends and evenings
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills and able to perform under pressure
  • The ability to multi-task will be essential in managing the busy day to day running of the club as well as to ensure the performance of your key designated projects.
  • Computer literacy with at least basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Friendly, confident and enthusiastic personality who takes real pride in achieving exceptional customer service results
  • First Aid Certificate and Fire Safety
  • Ability to pass a DBS check

30 Hours per week to include a variety of day time, evenings and weekends on a rota basis. You would be required to work every other weekend (Friday night, Saturday Night and Sunday day) – potential for additional ad-hoc hours to cover events.

Salary: £13.00 per hour

Kitchen Supervisor/Cook/Chef Age 18+

Job description:

We are looking for a Kitchen Supervisor/Cook/Chef to join our team.

The role is part-time working up to 20 hours a week during Football/Rugby Season, with the intention of developing into a full-time role. There will also be opportunity for additional hours during the week when we have functions.

Current hours required are

Friday 4.00pm to 8.30pm

Saturday 11.00am to 8.30pm (possible split shift of 9am to 11.00am for breakfast and 12noon to 8.30pm)

Sunday 9.00am – 12.00 noon (during football season)

Monday 12noon to 3.00pm Stocktake and Paperwork

Previous kitchen experience is essential, with an up-to-date Level 2 food hygiene certification. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

– Working with the Bar and Events manager to find the most efficient way of kitchen service flow.

– Daily running of the kitchen, delivering service in a timely and efficient manner.

– Helping plan and execute functions and event days.

– Ensuring hygiene standards are kept to a high standard.

– Helping with the planning of new menus and creating specials.

– Working closely with the manager to ensure GP is being met.

– Taking ownership of kitchen stock, ensuring stock control measures are in place and being adhered to. Keeping wastage to a minimum and ensure it is all being recorded accurately.

– The successful candidate would work 3 weekends out of 4 each month

– Admin hours to be part of the role

Job Type: Part-time – Hourly rate £13.50-£15.00 depending on experience

To work a variety of daytime, evening and weekend shifts for general opening hours and special events – flexibility for event finish times is a must

Previous bar experience desired but not necessary as training will be given
