Walking Football

Walking Football at the Holbrook Club

Walking football has kicked off at The Holbrook Club. The low impact, physical activity is a modern day twist on football designed for the over 50’s as a way to help fitness and health. As well as the obvious physical benefits, the sport also brings a brilliant social opportunity for you to meet new people and build friendships.

Your first session

Walking football sessions will be held every Thursday between 10am-12 midday. All new players will be able to play for free for their first two sessions. Sessions will then be charged at £5 which includes tea, coffee and light refreshments in the club hall after play. Holbrook Club members will be offered the opportunity to book a block of 4 sessions to receive a 5th session for free. At each session you will need to bring a pair of trainers, a t-shirt and a pair of shorts or tracksuit trousers. A pair of shoes or trainers to change in to and a bottle of water.

How the session is run

The session will start at 10am on the 3G pitch. We take warming up and cooling down very seriously and a routine specially designed by our gym team will be run by one of our gym instructors. We aim to play walking football for an hour and offer frequent player rotation. We play either a 5-a side match or tournament. A cool down will then be delivered by the gym instructor. Water, tea, coffee and cake will then be offered to each player in the club’s main hall.
